GlenWood, Unoaked Chardonnay 2020
A fresh and fruity wine of green apple, citrus and lime sorbet. Crisp and refreshing with a complimentary creaminess and lingering finish.
A rich experience from a well-vinified unoaked chardonnay.
Situated in the Franschhoek valley where vineyards have been planted since the late 1600s, when exiled French Huguenots brought their viticultural know-how to their new home in South Africa.
The grapes were harvested at 22.2°B and whole-bunch pressed to a low 1.4 bars of pressure. Fermentation occurred over a 28 day period. The wine spent five months on the gross lees before stabilisation, filtration and bottling.
Elegant orange blossom and lime aromas on the nose, supported by green apple and lime flavours on the palate.
Pairing well with mediterranean cuisine, rich seafood, pork and poultry.
